I'm in CA but rode in Nevada and Washington all year. I used a racing snowmobile suit (they're less hot that reg ones,) and slid a little sometimes, but that just develops better balance and senses. Cars go all over the place too... with a poor driver, but we live with poor drivers anyway. A switch to snowtires can be an option. Diehards were the only ones to fabricate any sort of chains. Reminds you to make all actions smoothly too.
