Default Track Day - Eagles Canyon Raceway, Texas

Did a track day last Sunday at Eagles Canyon Raceway. It's a new track and a fairly new organization, Texas Track Days, putting it on. The track, ECR, is pretty neat because it has lots of elevation changes.

We rode in the novice group, but the instructors told us to go to the Intermediate Group next time. They usually make you get 4 or 5 days under your belt according to their website.

Anyway, here's a couple of pics of me, they're from the Photographer's site so they're watermarked...I've ordered the whole set, of course!

If you can find a trackday even remotely nearby, do it. It really was great! The backroad twisties that me and my buddies all love will seem pretty tame now.

This track is only about 20 minutes from my house. There's another one about an hour or so away. The group will let you corner-work one day and ride free the next day so it's not so expensive.

Just when I thought I'd run out of stuff to buy for the bike and was pretty happy with it, this happened. Now I want (need!!!) all kinds of stuff...like a CBR1000RR for the street and make my 954 a trackbike, a trailer, more stuff, etc.

They range from $140 to $180 per day. Different groups; some include lunch and breakfast; the ones on weekends are usually higher than the Monday trackdays.

I was lucky, actually, and signed up on their website for a drawing and won.
