Default 2nd gear wheelies....

so i got the 1st gear wheelies down pretty good. Ive been trying a lot of 2nd gear wheelies (sit down) and i cant get it up. I go about 40 and rev it up to 10 or 11k and pop the clutch out and it comes up about a foot. I dont have anything done to my 600rr yet. Should i get a sprocket, will this make it easier or what?

Yes, dropping a tooth in the front will allow you to bring the front up with ease .

It will also give you quicker acceleration. But the bike will ride in a higher RPM at all times.

although going down a tooth in the front will help you but the bike will still do second gear wheelies, try clutching it a little earlier than 10 or a 11 grand try 6-8 grand thats were it would come up for me.

Not sure what you mean by POP the clutch? Are you going 40 pull the clutch in rev her to 10k and release it?

You should listen to your bike and not use the gauges first of all, but I will use #'s to explain my method.

I slip the clutch. in second gear I get going about 6k and slightly pull in the clutch just to disengage (mind you I ride a 929)while reving to about 9-10k and releasing the clutch in the same manner i pulled it in. keeping the throttle at this same position for the rev and she comes right up to the balance point. this takes all but 1 sec to happen.

This works for stand up or sit down, sit downs require a little more revs cause your wieght is on the tank more.

Start off slow and practice them before dropping that many rpms. you will loop it if it grabs. 1 foot at a time until you get the feel for it and when you get to about 3 or 4 feet up try riding them out to gain throttle controll and then after a hell of alot more practice you will be real consistant and will never look at your gauges because you will just know where the sweet spot is.

just my 2 cents on what works for me.

You were talking about wheelies in 1st gear. I am still breaking in my 07 600RR. I have heard that the 600RR will stand up (power wheelie) at around 8000 in 1st. Is that true? I havent taken it over 7000 because of the break in. Thanks
