Not sure what you mean by POP the clutch? Are you going 40 pull the clutch in rev her to 10k and release it?
You should listen to your bike and not use the gauges first of all, but I will use #'s to explain my method.
I slip the clutch. in second gear I get going about 6k and slightly pull in the clutch just to disengage (mind you I ride a 929)while reving to about 9-10k and releasing the clutch in the same manner i pulled it in. keeping the throttle at this same position for the rev and she comes right up to the balance point. this takes all but 1 sec to happen.
This works for stand up or sit down, sit downs require a little more revs cause your wieght is on the tank more.
Start off slow and practice them before dropping that many rpms. you will loop it if it grabs. 1 foot at a time until you get the feel for it and when you get to about 3 or 4 feet up try riding them out to gain throttle controll and then after a hell of alot more practice you will be real consistant and will never look at your gauges because you will just know where the sweet spot is.
just my 2 cents on what works for me.
