Denton area riding spots
I just recently moved from Rowlett, which is just east of Dallas, to Denton. I was wondering if anyone knows of any riding spots around this area. I haven't got a chance to go out and look for good roads yet. I like twistys alot but most importantly want a smooth road that has minimal law activity.

Im about 45 minutes from Denton In Sherman off Hwy 75. There is a good spot called Ida Road. Alot of the locals ride it. If you find anything out there in your area let me know. I will be down to meet up and ride.
Have you checked out the Denton Dragway off Hwy 35 yet?

FM 455 off 35 near Sanger is fun; going east you go around the lake, going west go all the way to Forestburg, then take 677 north all the way to Oklahoma and the really cool Indian Bridge.

Highway 920, Hwy 51, (I think this is right) just after you pass Runway Bay on a Sunday Morning.
Not for sure I was following a buddy and didn't pay attention to the street and
highway names.
Highway 4 around the Brazos River out towards Granbury.
This I know for sure...found these myself, and all the local sport riders ride
here...
Highway 455 from Sanger to Hwy 51. You can keep going past 51 on 455, but I went about 5-10 miles past it and the road got really poor, bumpy, gravel, potholes.
I usually run 455 to 51 then back down 455 towards Pilot Point.

455 past 51 is repaired now. All the way to Forestburg, then 677. Sweet ride, we ended up doing it twice yesterday.
FM 428 from just west of Aubrey to Celina.
FM 920 to SH 199 to FM 4 is the one velocity is talking about. FM 4 is great, but it's way west of Denton.

Yeah I thought 920 and 199 looked, (Google Earth) and sounded,
(blurry brain cells) familiar. Great roads. More wildlife than cars, maybe 1
every 10 miles on Sunday mornings, or popos, zero until we hit 377 then it was
State Troopers everywhere.

Yea, we did a 200 mile loop Sunday - Decatur to Denton on 380, then FM 428 where a giant Turkey Vulture tried to kill me (I actually had to duck), then all the way on 455 west to Forestburg, up 677 to Indian Bridge, back down 677/455 to 730, back to Decatur. Roads were great except for the three bridge constructions on 677. We don't do early; left Decatur around 2:00 PM, but only saw two PoPo's - St. Jo PD and a Montague Sheriff within 30 seconds of each other. Indian Bridge was deserted, as usual...zoom zoom.
Oh, I almost forgot - sweeping around a nice right hander, and a Forestburg Fire Truck appears from the other direction, a good 3 foot in my lane. No lights, no sirens, just cruising around apparently trying to take out sport bikes.
