Default Funny...

Can't remember where I saw this, but...
Quote:
An honest man was being tailgated by a stressed-out woman on a
busy boulevard. Suddenly, the light turned yellow, just in front of him.

He did the right thing, stopping at the crosswalk, even though he
could have beaten the red light by accelerating through the
intersection.

The tailgating woman hit the roof--and the horn--screaming in
frustration as she missed her chance to get through the
intersection.

As she was still in mid-rant , she heard a tap on her window and
looked up into the face of a very serious police officer. The
officer ordered her to exit her car with her hands up.

He took her to the police station where she was searched, finger printed,
photographed and placed in a holding cell.

After a couple of hours, a policeman approached the cell and
opened the door.

She was escorted back to the booking desk where the arresting
officer was waiting with her personal effects.

He said, "I'm very sorry for this mistake. You see, I pulled up
behind your car while you were blowing your horn, flipping off the
guy in front of you, and cussing a blue streak at him. I noticed
the 'Choose Life' license plate holder, the 'What Would Jesus Do'
bumper sticker, the 'Follow Me to Sunday School' bumper sticker,
and the chrome-plated Christian fish emblem on the trunk.
Naturally, I assumed you had stolen the car.

Sad but true.

However, don't label all of us Christians as nutty.

Believe it or not, I am a Christian too.

I'm saying, and that joke is saying that when you are a true Christian,
you don't act like an asshat to people doing right.

But, sometimes it's ok to obliterate the enemies of god.

Swindlers, cheats, liars, murderers, rapists, and the cowards they are.

GOD HATES A COWARD.

I don't care if people like me or not to be honest.

It's a bonus, and I have family and a few very close friends that do.

They know me.

Despite all the appearance of someone who can be arrogant, combative, and all that, they also know I'd be the first to rush into a burning building.

I get mad, then forgive quickly.

And besides, the Lord said.

"If the world hates you, remember that it also hated me, and hated me first."

I'm seriously impressed. That's spot on. Most people that claim to be Christians haven't read much scripture at all.

Well, I used to be a Heavy Metal, Cousin It haired, public TV, Darwin station watching dumbarse.

I know it sounds lame, but I truly did not know what the heck I was doing.

What life was really about, what was real and what was just...junk floating in my grey, one cell brain.

Then, out of nowhere, and without fear, I saw really how the world was.

This happened really powerfully the first time back in 1994..then was sporadic.
I sometimes slipped back into my heathen ways.

Never out to do anything wrong or harmful, just trying to feel normal.

Anyway, nothing scares me, nothing intimidates me, nothing worries me.

Used to worry all the time.

In fact I found I just began to learn to live, when I almost died about 7-8 years ago.

Then last Christmas...I had an...epiphany...revelation.

Once there, you can't go back.

How about this quote.

"Tell me, if you love those who love you, why should you be commended for that?
Even the toll collectors do as much, don

I can't quote any scripture, I don't own a bible, I don't practice any specific religion. However I can't deny the profound impact it can have on some people. My parents raised all of us to believe that religion was unfounded and all aspects were false. I guess when I came to an age when I began to question what they had spent so many years to instill in me I saw things in a different light. What I mean by "profound impact" I take from my older brother's story. He was born and raised in the same manner as I was,But took another path. growing up he was an angry and very disturbed person.By disturbed I mean he liked to take out his pent up aggression on other people. This usually resulted in assault charges. Many of them. He began this behavior as a freshman in highschool.Mind you he was 240 puonds and benched 380,at 16 years old.... no joke. So when he had an altercation people got seriosly injured beyond his intention. Seniors gave him a wide birth when walking down the hallways. Moving ahead a little this went on for about 20 years, add alcoholism to agitate the problem and that was his life. Then one day he just came to me and said "I'm tired of hating life and everything in it, I think I'm leaving" and just like that he packed his things and left the town we were born and raised in, my big brother and best friend was gone.

He ended up in St. Louis M.O. I kept in touch with him and one day he told me he went to church. After a couple of visits to his church he explained to me that for the first time in his life his mind was at peace. The anger and rage had simply just left him . He has never touched another drink, and would not think of harming another soul. Today he is a successful realestate agent living in Phoenix, and since has become a good source for support, sound advice, and inspiration.

My point is that weather its all true or not isn't even relevant. I personally don't question the validity of his faith in christianity. I can only respect it for what it has done for him.

I can now answer this one in about...

Religion, these days, has nothing to do with God.

Nine words.

I suggest you rent the video/DVD, whatever version, of the movie

The Passion of the Christ

Best movie I have ever seen in my life.
