The airbox has a "plate" of sorts that opens after a certain rpm. If you pull a vacuum line and plug it the plate will stay wide open all the time.

Its one of those free mods on the 04-07 1000RR's that takes about 15 seconds to do.

its funny how many little tricks there are with 1krrs to open up all the regulation and restriction...

thats cool, what kind of "performance gain" are we talking about??? Has anyone ever dynoed it before and after the flapper mod? Just curious, and intriged!

added about 2-3hp to low and mid range and its soooo much smoother at low RPMs
