The F4i will be a whole new track experience, different rev ranges, different style of riding, have to keep her higher in the rpm range to get the same kind of pull out of the corners that you get with the RC. I've been wanting a track bike, really don't want to use my 929, its a great bike, and pulls pretty hard from about 4500 rpm and up, but not like the rc does. was thinking about getting a Suzuki SV, my wife has a 650, and while it doesn't have near the power of a 600rr, it still does pretty well on the track. Nothing replaces that torque coming out of the corners, just waitin for a V-twin that spools up faster.

Thanks for the advise, should be fun discovering the f4i out on the track. Ya i totally agree seems like you've spent quite a bit of coin on that 929 i wouldnt want to track her either. The sv would be a great track bike cant believe how some people out here in CA have track records with those little bikes, simply amazing.
I know i might be going off topic but the gearing change for the f4i seems to be -1 on the front and +2 on the rear? From what ive seen so far from my searches.

yeah, thats what most track riders do, helps with the low end torque pulling out of the corners. As for the SV's, it just goes to show that torque is king in the corners. being able to lay on the throttle earlier, with more control, thats the ticket. I did find a used naked sv for the track, low miles, and it looks like its been taken care of, its an 05' with 10k miles, and is listed for 4k..thats about right..still, money is kinda tight, so may have to pass, even tho I really don't want to.

I am selling my old totalled F4i to a friend and we are adding 20 to 30 horsepower and quite a bit of extras including inverted shocks and radial mount brake calipers from a CBR600RR. Hell even 40mm throttle bodies from the '05-'06 CBR600RR ('07-'09 won't work because it has a servo motor controlled idle valve) and when I get some Marchesini wheels for my '08 CBR600RR I am selling my old wheels to that guy. The Enkei wheels on my 600RR are a LOT lighter than the stock F4i wheels. It'll be fun!
