I'm not familiar with the 400 RR due to the fact that bike is not sold in the American market. But, they are both Hondas! I would say go for the one that you like best.

Yeah the 400RR is a grey import except in Japan, the 600 F is a 1993 model. So since i know nothing bout bikes, let alone super sport bikes, what should I look for before making a descision.

You should definently look for a few things when looking at used bikes. A lot of sellers will try to hide things from you. I would request to ride boht bikes if at all possible. When you do ride them you are lookin for things like:

1. Smooth shifting between gears

2. The bikes steering isn't heavy and feels like the bikes going to dive at the ground.

3.Make sure the bike drives a straight line and does'nt pull to one side.

4. Make sure all lights and gauges are working correctly.

5. Look at the tires. They can tell you what type of riding the bike has done recently.

Some things to look for when inspecting the bike while not riding

1. Inspect fairings and bolts to see if any are missing or if the fairings have any road rash or have been patched up.

2. Look at the stator cover to see if it has any rash.

3. Look at the furthest back and the lowest part of the swingarm for any kind of road rash. ( Most of the time if the bike has been laid down before you will see evidence here.

4. Ask the person to start the bike and let it idle for a couple of minutes.

5. Ask to check to oil level. ( Make sure the oil looks like it has'nt been in there for 10,000 miles. )

6. Be very cautious and hammer the person down to the lowest price you can get.

Other people will add more to this, but it's a start!

Default Price

The country I am living in has a very heavy taxation on imports, so the price for these bikes here is 110 times more than in most countries

like shorty said i dont know much on the 400 either. but both are gonna be great bikes as long as they have been takin care off. if this is going to be your first bike i would prob. look more toward the 400 as the 600 is still a beast of a bike to learn on. other then that what kind of riding is it that you plan on doing the most of?

+1 on the 600, if you got the 400 you would be tired of it in a month craving more power! The 600 is a good size to learn on just be careful!!
