So living in Ontario means that its definitely time to change my oil and put my bike away as usual. Well, I decided to take my bike for one last rip so that I could get the oil warmed up before I change it. I only planned on taking it around the block but I got excited and decided, why not take a 10 minute cruise, so I hit the highway. I looked infront and behind me to do a quick check for police before I pinned it. Closest vehicle was a good mile behind me so I gave her shit and was well over the speed limit in no time. Well I noticed that the vehicle behind me was creeping up a little faster than it probably should have been so I slowed down and it took them a while to catch up. They tossed the lights on so I pulled over and I wound up getting lucky and he only gave me a ticket for not having my insurance slip on me and my plate sticker expired a couple days before so I got a ticket for that too. Still $200 in tickets right before christmas. This guy was part of the Native police force and this did not happen on the reserve. Is there any way I can get out of paying those tickets???

they have NO jurisdiction if it was off the reservation...I'd call a lawer.

That would be my luck. I agree with drew, contact a lawyer, and ask for his advise.

They did call the town police and they showed up but just for a minute and then they left. I'll see what I can dig up. What happen though if in they're report it says I was speeding? Can they hit me with that or does it have to be at the time I was pulled over?

The question is....

will it be cheaper to pay the ticket or cheaper to pay the lawyer?

Personally I have Pre Paid Legal. It's like 30 bucks a month and you get a boatload of benefits (like calling a lawyer and seeing what they can do for you...for free).

Call a lawyer a few times and see what kind of a bill you get....I'll bet you think that $30.00 a month is as close to free as you're gonna get.
