Default 520 Conversion Kit

What is a reasonable price for a good quality 520 conversion kit? Also, how difficult to install?

they're not difficult at all as long as you have the right tools and a rear stand. You can usually find the Vortex quick acceleration kits around $150 + and I think AFAM makes a kit but its closer to $200.

Ok thanks for the info. If i remember correct the 520 conversion will give you a little bit more acceleration and you wont lose much top end?

correct you gain alittle bottom end power because of the different gearing and less rotating mass. Top end doesn't suffer to much unless you are really messing with the sprockets.

The 520 conversion its self is not going to do anything but save a couple of pounds of rotating mass. dropping teeth on the countershaft sprocket or adding teeth to the rear sprocket is how you gain acceleration

I think the big difference is in the gearing, not the smaller chain.
