In California...2 questions
first, im looking at slip on exhaust kits (two bros and yoshi), are they legal? what are the rules concerning exhaust, is it based on noise level? and then after i get one do i need to jet it for it to run right?
also, I am looking at fender eliminators, do i have to have one that lights up the license plate?

all slip-ons will say on them for off road use only. but you shouldnt have any problems with the police giving you trouble because of it. when you put the new pipe on you will need to rejet it. what kind of bike are you looking to put it on?

2008 CBR 600rr (black and red), i love the bike but i want to start looking into doing some things to it. I want a good fender eliminator but i want something that looks really "classy". do i have to have to light up my license plate?
I was looking at some older posts and i was trying to figure out how to redo my gauges to get that sweet blue lighting, does anyone know who i would need to talk to?
as far as exhaust goes i want to get one that gives me a good sound but not going to get me in trouble with the police, any sugestions?
any other advice i would greatly appreciate as well, this is my first day posting and all of the peeps on this site seem to offer great advice so hopefully i can learn a little from all of your wisdom.

I can tell you that a Ypshi is going to give you the high pitched sound and the Two Bros will be louder and have a more throaty sound to it. Neither of those pipes should be too loud as to attract unwanted attention I don't think. The 2008 600RR is a fuel injected bike, so no rejetting of anything on your part. You can get a Power Commander that will change the computer settings to get a more optimal air/fuel ratio. But, that is not a must when adding a slip-on.
I have my gauges done through a member by the name of BrowningBuck that is a member of this forum. He also put in an intergrated Acumen gear indicator. I am very pleased with his finished product. Here's a pic of the setup.
As for any other advice I would just say, Stay within your limits and keep the rubber side down.

+1 on the two bros...I got the carbon fiber on my 07 6oorr (blue)btw
and It sounds sick...it says right on the box when you buy it "this is not street legal" But I just got pulled over by a motorcycle cop and he took a good long look at it and didn't care. here's a nice clean looking setup by two bros....w/ the f/e kit.....as far as the license plat light you would have to check your state law, I know that Nevada does not require it.

Thanks for all the advice!!
so i should be able to pick up a slip on and put it on with no need to do anything else? now would it help if i jetted it or would it just not do anything?
also for 2008 I think they made it required to have a Catalytic converters on my bike, do aftermarket exhaust like two bros and yoshi have converters that you know of?

Your bike is fuel injected. Jetting kits are for carburators. And no.

you shouldn't have a cat converter on your 08. Should just be a muffler then a downpipe right to the header...
