Default Taillight problems

About a year ago I replaced the stock taillight with an integrated turn signal. It worked fine until recently. Someone knocked my bike over when it was parked. I don't think that caused the problem. However, once I removed the rear seat cowl, the brake light stopped working (doesn't respond to either brake lever). The running light and both turn signals work. I looked at the wiring again and nothing is broken loose, etc. I test the wires with a voltmeter and they read opposite from what actually works. Basically things are f'd up. Anyone experienced this before?

Check the fuse. My brake light went out once, and it was the fuse.

I checked the main fuse box on the lower left (by your knee)... they're all good. Any other fuses? Another funny thing: the power wire for the brake light and the ground wire function opposite of how they test with a voltmeter. That is, the wire from the bike that doesn't show any current flow with the brake lever depressed is supposed to be the ground wire. But if you plug that into the light's ground wire nothing works. If you plug it into the light's brake wire the other lights work but the brake light doesn't work. I'm stumped!

I don't know if your is the same but I have a fuze box under the seat by the battery, along with my turn signal relay...have ya tried wiring up another light and see if it's not the integrated led's that took a crap????contrary to what they say about led's they do go out..I change hundreds of them a week at work.....
