New Paint, etc.
I'm looking to put a little paint on my '06 600RR. Right now it's all black with the red decals (I'll try to figure out how to put a picture on here). I'm probably going to go with some ghost flames on the tank cover and the plastic located under the rear seat (what's that called?). I'm thinking red and white flames. First, I'd like some feedback since a lot of you have really nice bikes, and have probably seen some cool stuff on other bikes. Additionally, I'd like to get my hands on a pair of new seats with designs on them to match the paint design. I've attached a few pictures of ghost flames I found that I like, a before pic of my bike, and a pic of a CBR seat that matches the paint on that bike (it's tribal). Comments, feedback, seats, tips... all welcome! Thanks.

dunno what to tell ya, if youre looking for advice on what to put on your bike im personally pretty anti-flame (since im sick of all the flamers around here bwah hahaha) seriously though i just dont dig flames at all, but thats me. that tribal seat and paint scheme is kinda cool, looks pricy to get done but who knows. if youre planning on painting it yourself, and you want to do ghost flames, invest in an airbrush and lots of practice time, or a touch up gun. ghost flames are much easier than people make them out to be, they can be dirt simple if done right.
best way to start with a paint job, is pick a base color. start there, find something you really want to work up from, if its stock black youre golden, if not, spend ALOT of time, look all over the internet for bikes in the color you want, and see how they look. if its what you want then get the bike one color. once the base color is on the bike you can better judge:
-how the angles of the bike make the paint look
-how the paint makes the bike stand out, where and why
-what features of the bike are highlighted after a color change.
-what you think of when you glance at your bike with the new color, whatever it reminds you of go with a theme from there.
my bike was very hotrod/oldschool in appearance when i started building it, so i went with that and carried on a ratrod theme. for you it might be something else, be it flames, maybe an animal of some kind, or animal print, or a type of graphic, or who knows, but try to make it fit the bike and make sure its what you want, because a complete paint scheme that youre happy with will draw the attention of all those around you to your confidence in your bike and yourself.
if theres any specific advice you need if its paint process or stylizing/detailing advice, anything at all you can PM me and ill help you out to the best of my abilites. good luck!

sorry man its hard to give someone advice on how to paint their bike cause we dont really have any idea of what you do and dont like. its kind of a personal preference thing. as long as you like how it looks thats all that matters.

yeah like i said man its really hard to say, the important thing is its what you want.
ill tell you how i decide how i want my stuff to look, its been my own personal trick for years on how to make something look the way it does in my head.
***NWS Language***
get really good and pissed off, think about all the stuff in your life that makes you really fuckin mad, make sure youre not around friends and family cause i mean you gotta get fuckin enraged man. get pissed, get so mad you swear at your carpet and shit, like "fuckin carpet is dirty and ugly as hell... FUCK!"
then you gotta get mad at your bike. DONT DO ANYTHING RASH.
think of how it pisses you off sometimes, when you gotta get something fixed, when it breaks down or doesnt run right, or how you hate that little scratch on the fairing.
sit down with a pen and paper now and draw out ideas, think of ways to change your bike into something else. think of paint schemes, but stay mad!
reason i do this is the clarity of mind and determination i get when im really mad, ive decided "this is how its gonna fuckin be and everyone else can FUCK OFF or LIKE IT!"
thats when its your bike. it may or may not be influenced by whats around you, it doesnt matter. you made up your mind, stick with it thats how your bike is supposed to look
its worked for me with four vehicles and three bikes, some were one stage changes some (like my streetfighter) are still changing constantly.
just some food for thought

Paint it purple with gay little rainbows all over it and it would still look better than flames.
