Default Changing my air filter. Question

I own a 2005 Honda CBR F4i

I'm changing my air filter for the first time (around 11,000 miles) and have a question.

I ordered a K & N air filter that is compatible with my bike as far as I know and I noticed the original air filter looks different.

The original looks like you can remove the filter and place a new one inside of the compartment and then put the whole thing back in, but the screws/bolts seem like they are not meant to be taken apart, which makes me believe its one piece.

The K & N filter just looks like you place in it.

Is this right? I'm kind of waiting to put it all back together without some advice, Thanks for any advice.

It should be shaped like the old one. And just slip right in

The K & N does slip right in, but they're indeed different. Just being cautious I guess.
