Default fuel indicator non-operational

Just doesn't work at all, including the "oh shit" light. So I've just been filling up at 125 miles on the odometer, but I was wondering if anyone else ever had this happen and whether it's an easy fix? Not sure if it's the sensor or display that have crapped out. ('02 F4i)

Thanks man. That would be a quick and easy fix. I'll check it out.

p.s. I've got it on stands anyway -- turns out the "new" Pilot Sport rear tire on this used bike had a couple slow-leak punctures that I didn't notice til I got home. And for anyone that saw my first post, it's not that the chain was overtightened -- it was simply under-lubed. As soon as I cleaned and oiled it, it was well within clearances. Still really happy with the purchase though...a really fun bike. PO had put a one tooth smaller sprocket up front, makes for a snappy bike!

i didn't even know that bike has a fuel indicator? does it? bc if it does, mine (02 f4i) doesn't work either.

i have the reserve indicator, but no gas gauge. is anyone sure there is actually a gas gauge?

There is no guage on and f4i, just a reserve bar that lights up. The sensor is part of the fuel pump assembly , remove the tank and front fairing and check the connections, if not then deal with it cause them fuel pumps are f'n expensive.

Default oops - my bad

This whole post was my snafu, sorry. The owner's manual talks about a "fuel indicator," but then goes on to explain it's just the reserve countdown. I'll just try to let the bike actually get to the reserve (I think at 125 miles it's just not ever hitting it). Sorry about my jackass post.
