Oil change
how often do you guys change your oil? at what mile marks or after how many months, depending on how often you ride.

Since I don't put more than 4k on it per season, I change it once a year. I change oil after it has sat for the winter to get rid of any condensation. I use Amsoil synthetic.

every 6 or 7 thousand km, throw on a new filter and drop the oil. in the spring i drop the pan, clean everything really well put on a new gasket, and run clean oil through the cooler lines for a few minutes, then regardless of mileage ill change the oil right before i store my bike for the winter.

2k, any more is nuts. a car goes 3k and does like 200,000 miles on average. Most bike dont live past the 30-50 k mark. i wouldnt go to long. there is clutch junk and trans junk in the same oil as your motor, alot of garbage in one kind of oil. most harley change within the 3k mark and they do like 100,000 miles but they even have separate trans and motor oil. just my 2 cents.

Are the fram oil filters bad for motorcycles? I just bought one and one site said to stay away from them. Should i get a k&n instead?
also what weight does a 02 take? sorry don't have a manual

i use a purolator oil filter for about the same price as a fram. i personally had 1 bad experience with a fram filter and just don't like taking the chance but its all personal preference really. as far as weight i use 10w40 mobile full synthetic
