change your gearing and go to a 520,air filter
it all depends on how much you wanna spend light weight rims will give you a reatarded power increase
but the best mod i did to go faster was a bunch of track days, after those i could ride my bike alot faster on the streets

I would spend the money on some closed course track riding like Lantern said. The 1000rr is a very fast bike ( may not be the fastest of the liter bikes ). The focus for any rider should be to further advance your skills. People can say they ride a fast bike. To me that doesnt impress me at all. But, when someone says they ride a fast bike and they can use the bike to its full potential, that's what impresses me.

+100 on the track days.

Also the gearing will be a huge improvement!

Well I've had my 04 1k maxed out and it topped out at an indicated 189mph... why the heck would anyone wanna go any faster than that?

Get a custom tune. Gearing it will make it quicker but slows it down on the top end.

gearing and a custom map, other then that track days. as fast as those bikes are if you need it to be faster then you should have your ass on the circuit.

the best power for the money is bmc race filters, pciii, flapper mod (free), & gearing (stock is too tall). our hondas are not dyno queens. with that in mind i think the best things for our bikes are

custom suspension
double bubble windscreen
stomp grip
flapper mod
pciii
gearing 15/43 or 15/41 sprockets are cheap get a 15 & 43 and figure out what works best for you
stainless front brake lines

if you want to get there fast (my preference) gear the bike down, go with a tooth less on the front and add 2 to the rear, dont fergit a speedohealer, cause your millage and speed ull be jackd. My new top speed is 165 with that set-up.

if you wanna get there a little slower but hit ludacris speed 200+, gear the bike up. AGain, I'd recommend (almost as a necessity) the speedohealer.
whooop whoooooooop 8)

toss up between the pipe and commander of the power (PCIII) or the gear change as the most noticable diference. Probably the gear change, mucho cheaper of the two, and was more of a noticable difference. It was as if I went from a vespa to the enterprise 8), and all for less than $300
