"I" would drain alittle oil myself,just so the is no possibilty there can be a mess. If your using a rear stand, the bike will be strait up and down, you will probably be ok, like wannaride said!! But if your on the side stand be careful, more oil is in there than you will think!!!

Also use some atv black sylicone on the rubber gasket for the wires, just to be safe. Mine has never leaked since I did that!!!
