Shoes recommendation?
Hey guys,
I rode very briefly about 6 years ago (Ninja 250r), and this week just purchased an '04 CBR F4i. Even though I've ridden a bit before I feel like I'm a beginner all over again.
So anyway.. I'm wondering about what kind of shoes I should wear when I ride. I live in hot, sunny Florida. So I don't want boots, or anything big and bulky like that.
I want something sporty, but online I'm only finding 'racing boots'.
Can anyone recommend any brands that make riding shoes that basically look like running shoes?
Or, is is OK to ride with just running shoes? Most of the running shoes I'm finding these days have a soft or mesh/like top part (ie - where the toes are it's pretty soft/flexible). I don't know what that would be like.
I haven't ridden my CBR yet because I'm only getting it lowered tomorrow (I'm a 5'3 woman)
I do remember when I took my riding course 6 years ago that they said to wear good sturdy boots and not running shoes.... but I see everyone in south Florida wearing running shoes...
so anyway, any advice would be appreciated. Do I need something that protects the ankle? (would high-rise running shoes work?)
Thanks
Nathalie
